Orphan X by Gregg Hurwitz

Orphan X by Gregg Hurwitz

This is the first book in a new series featuring Evan Smoak. Evan is a highly trained assassin with Jason Bourne or Jack Reacher worthy skills.  He is known as the Nowhere Man, the one you call when you have nowhere else to turn.

Evan was taken, as a child, from a group foster home.  He was raised by a mentor and trained in the Orphan program and known as Orphan X.  After breaking away from the program Evan uses his skills to live under the radar while helping those in the most desperate need.

Evan instructs those he has helped to find someone else in need and pass his number on to only that one person, then forget the number. Evan's most recent job seemed to go according to plan. Then he gets two calls for help, both saying they are the referral from his last job.  But which is the real job and who is behind the other call?  He attempts to track down the woman from his last job but she has since disappeared.  Soon Evan is running for his life, trying to figure out if it is his current client or himself the hired assassins are after.

Gregg Hurwitz has been a published writer for over twenty years.  In that time he has written for a wide variety of genres including TV series, graphic novels, young adult fiction novels and adult fiction novels.

This book is also available on audio CD, in large print, and electronic download.  The audio book is read by one of my favorite readers, Scott Brick.
