The Story of Diva and Flea by Mo Willems

Mo Willems is a favorite for many. The Pigeon, Elephant and Piggie, and Knuffle Bunny bring joy and excitement to adults and children alike. Furthermore, Tony DiTerlizzi's skill and art are instantly recognizable. So the two forces combined bring us The Story of Diva and Flea an adorable and very Parisienne story.

Diva is a prim and proper dog who never leaves the safety of her gated patio while Flea is a flaneur and adventure seeking cat. One day the two meet by chance and each teaches the other what it means to be brave and loved.

Peppered with French phrases and numerous witticisms, this is a fun and quick read. The author's note in the back describes how Mr. Willems had always wanted to live in Paris, so one day he did and stumbled upon a best friend dog and cat thus he knew he must write a story. It is inspiring to kids, offering important messages in terms of following your dreams, learning to be brave, and that there is a story worth telling in every chance encounter.
