Orphan Black is a Canadian TV series that is a lot of suspense, some mystery, and a smidgen of science fiction. It is very hard to tell you about this series without giving anything away.
I started watching this one not knowing anything other than it has to do with cloning. There were many times I found myself literally sitting on the edge of my seat, my hands over my mouth, holding my breath. Only to gasp out loud in the next minute "Oh no, they didn't".
The main character is Sarah Manning, a street-wise hustler on the run from a bad boyfriend. Having just arrived in town and still on the train platform Sarah witnesses a woman, who looks just like her, commit suicide by walking in front of a train. Sarah takes the woman's purse and plans to clean out the woman's bank account. When she finds out more about the woman the plan changes and she assumes the woman's identity. The plot builds from there with one twist and turn after another.
The series has been nominated for and won multiple awards. Here in the US it currently airs on BBC America.
The library system also has seasons 2 and 3 in the collection. The series has been picked up for a fourth season.
