Prince of Wolves by David Gross

Prince of Wolves is the first in a line of fast paced fantasy adventures written by David Gross.  Pathfinder Varian Jeggare, a half-elf count, and his bodyguard Radovan embark on a journey in search of a missing Pathfinder.  Their quest takes them to Ustalav, a dark and gloomy country filled with tales of werewolves, vampires and undead horrors.  The locals that aren't menacing are nervous, and the nobility is hiding something...but what?  Varian and Radovan go digging for answers, but will they survive what they find?

The book has the tone of a classic "Transylvanian" horror with the feel of a high fantasy.  It's a great read for those looking for a light and fun tale with equal parts mystery and action.  The book takes place in the rich and expansive world of Galorian from the popular Pathfinder Roleplaying Game.  But like R.A. Salvatore's Legend of Drizzt, you don't need to roleplay in order to enjoy the characters or the story.  Anyone looking for a fantasy tale with a gothic feel will enjoy this journey.

Looking for more exciting novels inspired by popular games?  Check out the Legend of Drizzt and the Warhammer series.
