Snowy Valentine by David Petersen

Snowy Valentine, by David Petersen, is an adorable Valentine's Day children's book about Jasper the bunny.  Jasper sets out from his cottage one snowy day to find the perfect gift for his love.  Through the forest valley he searches in vain, until he discovers the greatest gift he could possibly give.  What will Jasper give to his beloved bunny?  Find out in this playfully heart-warming tale of true bunnies love.

David Petersen is an incredibly talented story writer and illustrator, which he demonstrates yet again in Snowy Valentine.  His artwork evokes feelings of comfort and joy as the reader marches through the snowy valley with Jasper, visiting cobblestone cottages and little huts where other animals live.  It's difficult to describe, but the atmosphere Petersen paints with his attention to detail and expressive characters leaves you feeling refreshed and optimistic.  And the storyline resonates perfectly with the art to leave the reader with a feeling of warmth and affection.  The ending will, without fail, leave you sighing with a fuzzy "awwwwwww".

If you want more of David Petersen's excellent storytelling and art, be sure to check out his adult graphic novel series, Mouse Guard.
