Touch by Jus Accardo

What if you could turn someone into a pile of dead ashes simply by touching your bare skin against theirs? And, even worse, suppose you had no control over your ability…and then you fell in love!

A feisty motherless teenager and only child, Deznee Cross spends much of her time trying to figure out ways to infuriate her emotionally distant father. When a seriously hot boy named Kale literally falls into her path one night as she stumbles away from a wild party, Dez instantly decides to take him home with her, hoping to send her dad into a tailspin. But the real shock comes when Deznee realizes that Kale and her dad already know each other, and that Mr. Cross is much more than just a boring attorney.

Dez and Kale manage to outwit Dez's evil dad and embark upon an action-packed adventure during which they discover that they are both “Sixes,” teens with special gifts, and that Deznee is the only one who is able to touch Kale without being instantly obliterated.

Forceful, funny and never dull, this first novel in the Denazen series offers drama, danger, romance, fight scenes galore, and the ever popular love triangle. If you enjoy hanging out with the Sixes in Touch, try I Am Number Four by Pittacus Lore or False Memory by Dan Krokos.
