Duck Sock Hop

written by Jane Kohuth & illustrated by Jane Porter

Duck Sock Hop is the perfect read-aloud.  Wiggle, rhyme, and sing along with this lively brace of ducks during their weekly Sock Hop!  Rhyming text dances across the page in bold font, right along with each of the ducks.
"Three ducks boogie.
One duck rocks.
Two ducks stop and trade their socks."

"Socks with squares and socks with dots" are only a few sock designs that make up these silly illustrations of ducks in festive costumes.  Even when pandemonium ensues, the pictures are kept from becoming too busy.  Each duck is outlined in bold brushstrokes, and is individualized with colorful block print patterns.

This funny, upbeat story is sure to appeal to all children and the adults reading with them.  Duck Sock Hop can be found on VBPL's online catalog, where you'll find a copy at most of your city libraries.  Don't forget your top hats!

"Warm up, wiggle, stretch your beak..."
and check out Duck Sock Hop right down the street!

If you like Duck Sock Hop, you might want to also check out Eric Litwin’s Pete the Cat books.  Litwin’s new title, Pete the Cat Saves Christmas will be coming soon, and can be placed on hold using your VBPL library card.
